Summit Snowdon

Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa to give its welsh name, is the highest mountain in England and Wales with multiple routes of varying difficulty to reach the top. Along the way history, geology, flora and fauna can be found as well as the mountain being shrouded in mythology. Add the stunning scenery and it means climbing Snowdon can be an awesome outdoor experience you won’t forget. Snowdonia & North Wales

Snowdonia National Park has a number of incredible mountain ranges in a relatively small area. The northern area is popular and includes the Snowdon massif, the Glyderau and Carneddau. The second inclues Moel Siabod, Cnicht, Moelwynions and mountains around Blaenau Ffestiniog. The third includes the Rhinogs in the west as well as the Arenig and Migneint, and the fourth being the southern area including Cadar Idris, Tarren range, the Dyfi hills and the Aran group.

Lightfoot Adventures often offer a Climb Snowdon day with another walk in the park to make it a weekend of exploration. Depending on the group, conditions and weather this might include Cnicht, Moel Siabod, Tryfan, the Glyders, Eldir Fawr or a long walking the Carneddau ridge. Any option offers a lot of geology, flora & fauna as well as stunning scenery and a great outdoor experience. Brecons & South Wales

The Brecon Beacons National Park offers walking for all levels with wild open hillsides and landscapes, from the Black Mountains in the east, the popular heart of the park with Pen-Y-Fan being the highest point, and the more remote Black Mountain range in the west. There are castles and waterfalls to enjoy, nature reserves and woodlands to explore and lakes and waterways to dip your toes in (if you’re brave enough). Lightfoot Adventures have experience providing days out exploring as well as long walks up some of the bigger hills.

Dartmoor & South West

The Dartmoor National Park is at the heart of Devon and there is an ancient and magical aspect to its landscapes, from its tors and stone circles, old forests, fast flowing rivers and wide open moors, its a place to explore and get lost in. Lightfoot Adventures have organised walking trips to Dartmoor as well as wild camping weekends, so  we know some of the truly wild places to explore.

As well as Dartmoor, there are the Quantock Hills and Exmoor in the south-west. The Quantocks are a range of coastal hills and are an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which means it is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Exmoor is a National Park of unique landscapes, woodland and valleys shaped over thousands of years. Lightfoot Adventures have enjoyed walks in both areas and can arrange walking weekends, giving you the opportunity to explore and enjoy everything they have to offer.

Multi-Day Walks

Lightfoot Adventures have experience leading in most of the UK National Parks and can provide events in the Brecons, Dartmoor, Snowdonia, Peak District, Lake District, Northumberland, Cairngorms, Loch Lomond & Trossachs as well as more remote regions of the Scottish highlands and islands.
